Jacob James
We would like to introduce you to Mr. Jacob James. Not only is Jacob in the record books for stolen bases at Post 22, but he is also our very own player development analyst. A lot of programs use analytics, not many have a person that can design them. While Jacob was playing the game, effort was never a question. He was the epitome of what a leadoff hitter should be, a true spark plug for his team.
Jacob James began his baseball journey at Harney Little League, where his love for the game took root. He later advanced to play six years at Post 22, honing his skills on and off the field. It was there that he developed a strong foundation in teamwork, leadership, and dedication. After high school, he continued his baseball career at Augustana University, where he became a four-year starter and was part of the team that won the first Conference Championship in the university's history.
Currently, he is pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science/Data Science at South Dakota School of Mines. He has a passion for combining traditional baseball wisdom with modern data-driven advancements, bridging the gap between old-school baseball and the future of the game.
The lessons he learned from baseball have been invaluable in every aspect of his life, and he is committed to passing these values on to the next generation. He especially emphasizes the importance of hard work, confidence, and the sense of self-worth that comes from pursuing a dream, regardless of the outcome.
