Meet Lainey Van Zee: Passionate Softball Player and Dedicated Athlete

Hello! I’m Lainey Van Zee, and I am thrilled to be part of the Home Plate Collective community. Growing up in Rapid City, South Dakota, I had the privilege of exploring various sports, including softball, basketball, soccer, and track. However, softball captured my heart and became my true passion.

Currently a senior at Stevens High School, I’ve been fortunate to develop my skills as a pitcher and utility player. I proudly represent both the SD Renegades National Team and my high school team, where I’ve honed my athletic abilities. Over the last two years, I’ve been honored with the prestigious "Best of the West" award for high school softball and earned my varsity letter.

As I prepare to graduate, I’m excited about the opportunity to take my softball journey to the collegiate level. I look forward to continuing my growth as an athlete, teammate, and leader in the sport I love.
